this morning, I also said that the adjustment of industrial structure. In fact, M & A is a very good means, because through M & A, we certainly need to use different methods to operate, because different companies have different assets for their own core competitiveness. Therefore, through continuous M & A and restructuring, it will make a positive contribution not only to us but also to the whole industry. I have prepared some contents today, including the general overview of BASF. Why do you say so? Instead of selling advertising, we need to know the current situation of our company in order to better understand the contents of our past acquisitions, how to merge and integrate into our business. Then I will report to you the current situation of our global acquisition of Ciba

first of all, BASF is very familiar with us. We are the 59th company in the global top 500. At present, we are the only chemical company in the top 100. BASF not only sells products, but also provides solutions to our customers. I think all of us here feel that providing products alone is now a more traditional solution for chemical industry in the past. Now we have all come to help our customers become more successful. In 2008, our global sales reached 62.3 billion euros, with 96000 employees worldwide. Of course, this figure is at the end of last year, and it may not be the same this year. At the same time, we have made some contributions to the overall sustainable development, especially in the chemical industry

from the end of last year, the Asia Pacific region accounted for only 15% of the global performance of BASF global. We can also see that the proportion of Europe is still relatively large, including Germany and other countries outside Germany. Of course, Professor Wang (wangzhile) also mentioned the global index this morning. We are also a global company, because the German part accounts for less than half of our European part. We can also see the data after 2008. We also encountered some difficulties. Generally speaking, it is relatively positive. We still have growth, but Asia has less than 3% negative growth

we currently operate in 15 countries in Asia, with a total of more than 100 production bases, 15 R & D centers, about 13000 employees and 9.3 billion euros of sales. Of course, our main integrated production bases are in Malaysia and Nanjing, China. We are quite familiar with the situation in China. By the end of last year, we had 19 wholly-owned companies, 10 joint ventures and 29 production bases. Of course, after the acquisition of Ciba this year, we have added 14 enterprises and 10 production bases. At present, our chemical parks in China, mainly in Nanjing and Shanghai, are our main investment bases. Of course, we have begun to attach great importance to China's development. Not only in the Yangtze River Delta, but also in other places, there are some relatively small factories

how do we operate our business in the world? How are the sectors divided? In the world, up to the beginning of this year, we have been working in six areas, including basic oil, natural gas, chemicals, plastics, etc., and three other parts are characteristic products, functional solutions and agricultural solutions, which are the solutions we focus on helping customers. At the beginning of this year, I won't tell you anything else. There are different business departments. Why did I take this out? As of March this year, we have said that we are going to acquire Ciba since September last year. Therefore, in this process, we will first integrate our own company. Next, we will introduce to you what we do in the process of preparation. It was not until early April this year that the world officially received some instructions from various countries around the world. We can officially purchase Ciba. We announced the acquisition of Ciba on September 16 last year. I remember that day, the same day that Lehman Brothers collapsed. Therefore, many people ask us, saying that BASF is very unfortunate. Will it pay too much money to buy Ciba at such a time

in the next figure, we will see that the research started in March this year. If we look at the figure just now to speed up the upgrading of plastic granulator technology, in our characteristic products, in the past, one business unit in the middle of us was acrylic products and dispersions, because we wanted to purchase Ciba, otherwise we would scratch the lens surface all over the world and decompose this business unit, It is understandable that some of its business, such as acrylic acid, is divided into petrochemicals. The downstream of acrylic acid includes sap and nursing chemicals. Now SAP products are mainly used for diapers, which are part of personal care. We also have some other characteristic chemical parts. The dye part is divided into the dispersion part and the dye part. In the past, the dispersion was divided into two sectors: the paper industry and the non paper industry. When we were preparing to acquire Ciba, we first separated some latex and related products from the paper industry as units of the paper industry.
